Howard has spent the last 12 years working in the field of environmental management and stakeholder information software, culminating in the founding of SustaiNet in 2004. The lack of fully functional and easy-to-use stakeholder tracking software was the impetus for SustaiNet. In developing StakeTracker, Howard applied his 20+ years of international business development, marketing, and sales experience, including 10 years working with enterprise level software systems on a global basis, as well as his extensive knowledge of industry needs.
Prior to founding SustaiNet, Howard was the President of GemTeck Environmental Software Ltd, and during the 1980’s, Howard was a practising Professional Engineer (Civil) designing and constructing large water conveying and retaining structures, including earth/rollcrete dams. He was also divisional manager of a liquid/solid separation company, supplying large mechanical dewatering and composting plant into local government and industrial sectors. Howard has B.Sc. (Engineering), B.Comm (Business Management) and MBA degrees, a diploma in International Trade and a certificate in Public Participation (IAP2).
